What to do with used toys?

I have cleared out two bags of toys that the children have grown out of and am not really sure what to do with them! Should I hold on to them until we do a boot sale next year.....can you make much money out of selling used toys? or what's ebay like for selling toys? Or should i give them to a charity shop?

You could try netmums for selling to local people - and you could ask them to collect from you too. Or if you're feeling generous, maybe your local doctors' surgery or children's centre might like some of them.

Unless they are expensive toys, you may only get pennies on ebay or at carboot sales but like Little H said, if you can find a local nearly new sale, that might be your best choice. Our local ones are always really busy!

Do you go to any toddler groups? I do and sometimes one of the mums might put up a table in the corner and sell their unwanted items.  If this isnt possible, you could always donate them to a local childrens ward or charity shop.

I definitely think it's worth giving at go at selling them.  Around where I live there are special sales once a month for second hand baby and children's things and I think it's only about £5 for a table.  This is definitely meant to work out better than selling at an NCT sale.  We also have a fabulous toy shop around us on a farm and they sell both new and second hand goods.  You can fill your car boot with old toys you no longer want and they offer you a sum of money for the whole lot.  Car boots when the weather is better are also good and toys often sell well at these.  It's worth looking out for different places where you can sell second hand toys local to you.
