Yay! it’s British Pie Week (7th – 13th March).
Families up and down the country will be getting their ‘pie-on’ and baking traditional pies and pies with a twist.
Did you know that the most expensive meat pie ever sold was at the Fence Gate Inn in Lancashire for a whopping £1024 per slice? The whole pie fed eight people and totally an eye-watering £8195 with ingredients such as Wagyy beef fillet, Chinese Matstake mushrooms, Winter black truffles and gravy made from 2 bottles of red wine worth £1000 each! It even made the Guinness Book of Records.
Well, we have some remarkably cheaper pie recipes below to inspire your cooking this British Pie Week. We are now SO hungry that we are going off to hunt some ingredients down for the Cherry Heart Pie.
