  • family meal planner stress-free
  • All the meals included in our weekly meal planners are child friendly and provide nutrients from each of the food groups (proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins and minerals).

Every week, Sian from puts together five easy recipes for our week’s family meal planner. You can choose to make them on whichever day of the week suits you best. She also puts together a shopping list that you can download for free and print out to take with you to the supermarket.

  • roast-chicken meal planner
  • Roast citrus chicken: We can’t always afford the more flavoursome organic and/or corn fed free range chickens. But don’t despair, as nutritionally there is very little difference between any of them. Also many common ingredients can add real zest to chicken – my favorites being lemon, limes and oranges. Serve with roast veg.

  • warm chocolate surprise
  • Warm chocolate surprise cupcakes: How about a warm chocolate cupcake with a delicious surprise? Quick to make and bake, alternatively make them on Sunday, store in an airtight tin.

  • chicken and vegetable pasties
  • Chicken and vegetable pasties: Keep enough chicken and vegetables over from the Sunday roast to make these delicious pasties. Serve with vegetable rice.

  • tomato pasta cheese-melt meal plan
  • Tomato, pasta cheese melt served with spinach and sweetcorn: This one of my favourite meat-free recipes. The tomato sauce is mixed with the hot pasta, covered in any grated cheese and placed in the oven or under the grill to melt.

  • spicy lamb-tacos meal plan
  • Spicy lamb tacos: A delicious wholesome meal in just 30 minutes. Quicker than a take away and tastier than a ready made meal, it’s a great recipe to regularly add to your weekly meal plan. You can also use turkey mince or a good lean beef mince with this dish.

  • chowder mixed fish meal plan
  • Chowder (mixed fish): Full of nourishment. Keep small bags of frozen sea food in your freezer (these can be purchased in supermarkets and have a variety of seafood in them). Use, haddock, salmon, smoked salmon, cod, prawns, lobster or crab meat, mussels etc. Serve with chunks of brown crusty bread.
