Beating the January Blues

We’re 10 days into January. It’s cold and dark in the mornings, I don’t have a holiday to look forward to, my finances are tight as I spent way too much at Christmas and I’ve given up chocolate (well sort of). The Christmas cheer is long gone. January isn’t a happy month.

To put a smile on my face and hopefully yours, I’ve done a little research to find and spread some January joy:

Something cute:Baby polar bear

Baby Polar Bear Gets Rescued: This is the story of one very, very cute baby polar bear at a Scandinavian wildlife park. You’ve a heart of stone if this doesn’t make you smile.

Something nostalgic:

The Very Hungry Caterpillar: A reminder to all adults that this is the best book of all time; it takes me right back to my school library at the age of five. Life was so much simpler then!

Something huggable:

A hug from my two year old nephew, Felix! Priceless. But, sorry, he isn’t for hire. Ask your nearest and dearest for extra hugs this month or take part in the free hugs campaign.

Falling overSomething plain funny:

I know it’s cruel, but I can’t help but laugh at people falling over. Here is a great compilation (I have been assured that no one was seriously hurt in the filming).

Enjoy! It’ll be spring soon enough and the sun will be shining.
