Distressed Baby Elephant Gets Rescued From Drain

A baby elephant is rescued from a narrow drain in the southern port city of Hambantota where wild elephants roam freely amongst the city dwellers.

The poor baby elephant had a broken leg and was taken away for medical treatment. Workers at the port assisted wildlife officials in breaking open the drain and pulling the animal to safety.

Well done to the caring rescue team and we hope baby elephant will be reunited with their mummy soon.
