  • Shepherds pie meal plan
  • Shepherd’s pie with sweetcorn and spinach: Shepherd’s pie always goes down a treat with the family. Lamb goes much further when minced, however you can also try to reduce the cost further by substituting a quarter of the lamb with brown breadcrumbs, beans or lentils.

  • chicken-spinach-and-lentil-casserole meal plan
  • Chicken, spinach and lentil casserole served with cabbage and grated carrot: This recipe is one of the healthiest and filling meals out there. If your children are quite small, share one fillet to reduce the cost of your weekly shop. Use a heavy based pan or cook in a casserole dish in the oven if you prefer.

  • tomato pasta cheese-melt meal plan
  • Tomato, pasta and cheese melt: This is a perfect quick and easy meat-free recipe. It’s a simple mix of the delicious tomato sauce and hot pasta, covered in grated cheese and placed in the oven or under the grill to melt.

  • falafel salad meal plan
  • Falafel and sweet pepper salad: This simple but tasty falafel recipe is rich in plant protein – served with salad, sour cream and toasted pitta bread, it’s a quick, wholesome and delicious meal. Leftovers can be served cold for lunch or frozen and reheated. Serve with vegetable rice.

  • fish and butter bean
  • Fish with butter bean, chorizo and tomato cassoulet: You can use a white fish of your choice for this dish (such as haddock, whiting, coley, or cod). It gives a lovely contrast in flavour with the chorizo and tomatoes. A striking nutritious dish. Serve with leftover or frozen vegetables.
