  • citrus-chicken meal plan
  • Citrus chicken and broccoli stir fry: This is a firm favourite with the family. Save money on this dish by using up leftover vegetables or swap the chicken for chickpeas and cubes of cheese. A quick dish – you will have the meal in front of the family before they ask ‘What’s for dinner?’ Serve with cooked noodles if the family is especially hungry!

  • lamb koftas
  • Lamb Koftas served with roast root vegetables and gravy or natural yoghurt laced with finely chopped mint: Traditional Lamb Koftas are simple meatballs with spices added to create Eastern flavours. Koftas can be made using pork, beef, turkey or chicken mince. Simple to make yet delicious.

  • fish fingers
  • Breaded fillet fish fingers served with warm potato salad and peas or warm baked beans: Homemade fish fingers are much healthier and tastier than store-bought ones, as you can purchase good quality fresh fish – unlike the mixture of processed fish ends you get in the ones from your local shop.

  • pasta-provencale meal plan
  • Pasta provencale: A simple, inexpensive vegetarian dish. Add vegetables of your choice such as corn, frozen beans or peas. Mushrooms are optional. A fusion of Italian and French cuisine.

  • vegetarian-curry meal plan
  • Vegetarian curry served with basmati or brown rice: Delicious and economical if you use up the vegetables in the kitchen. Make a big pot, even doubling the amount. Freeze leftovers in individual containers or enjoy the next day. Curry paste is available in varying levels of spiciness (korma being a family favourite, and milder for younger ones).
