Once I started cooking the Brussel sprouts with pancetta or bacon, the children loved them. Frozen provide the best value as there is no waste.
Approx cost: £4 or 60p per portion
Total time: 30 mins
- 25g butter
- 500g brussel sprouts
- 200g pancetta (sliced)
- Chopped chives
- In a saucepan, melt butter and fry pancetta until lightly crisped
- Drain the sprouts and add to the bacon pan until they develop a little brown crisp
- Toss in chives, season and serve!
