Brussel sprouts with pancetta and chives

brussel sproutsOnce I started cooking the Brussel sprouts with pancetta or bacon, the children loved them. Frozen provide the best value as there is no waste.



Approx cost: £4 or 60p per portion

  • 25g butter
  • 500g brussel sprouts
  • 200g pancetta (sliced)
  • Chopped chives


  • In a saucepan, melt butter and fry pancetta until lightly crisped
  • Drain the sprouts and add to the bacon pan until they develop a little brown crisp
  • Toss in chives, season and serve!
