apple sauceA little orange zest transforms the traditional apple sauce into a burst of flavour. Serve with the pork on Sunday with leftover sauce in sandwiches or with custard. Yummy.

Ingredients

  • 3 bramley apples
  • 50 g caster sugar
  • 1 orange zest
  • 1 tblsp cold water

Method

  • Peel, core and slice apples
  • Place all ingredients in a saucepan
  • Bring to the boil
  • Turn off the heat
  • Place a lid on the saucepan
  • Leave for 10 -15 minutes. if the apple is still not cooked, heat and stir until cooked
  • Sieve. Serve hot or cold
