Mojito recipe

Prepare this refreshing tipple for your New Year’s Eve party and you’re sure to impress.

Our tip: Easy to make, and a great way to celebrate and welcome in 2013.

Serves: 1


  • 1 teaspoon sugar syrup
  • 6 fresh mint leaves, plus extra to decorate
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 4–6 cracked ice cubes
  • 2 measures Jamaican rum
  • Soda water
  • Dash Angostura bitters


  • Put the sugar syrup, mint leaves and lime juice into a lowball glass
  • Muddle the mint leaves, then add the cracked ice cubes and the rum
  • Top up with soda water
  • Finish with the Angostura bitters and decorate with the remaining mint leaves
