pumpkin pieDon’t waist the pumpkin flesh when carving your halloween pumpkin. Use it to make a delicious pumpkin pie.


Serves: 8

Total time: 70 minutes


  • 1 pumpkin (Medium sized)
  • 150 g brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoon plain flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 250 mls milk evaporated
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon (ground)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cloves
  • 1 pastry cases (large)


  • Oven Temperature: 350ºF – 180ºC – Gas Mark 4 – Moderate
  • Scrape pumpkin flesh from pumpkin used to make your Halloween pumpkin.(See link to How to make a Halloween Pumpkin)
  • Place flesh from inside of the pumpkin in a microwave and set on high for 3 minutes
  • Test to see if its soft, if not put it on for a few more minutes
  • When the flesh is cooked puree using a blitzer and place through a sive
  • To Make The Filling:
  • Place all ingredients except for the pastry cases in a large bowl, using a whisk or a wooden spoon mix together
  • Pour into an uncooked pastry case
  • Bake at 180 c for 20 minutes. Reduce heat to 150 and cook for a further 30 minutes until the centre of the pie is firm
