The economic outlook is gloomy, and many of us are struggling. But you shouldn't feel ashamed if you're facing financial problems, as new figures show we really are all in the same boat.
If you've been made redundant, it really isn't your fault - 1,764 are put in the same position every day in the UK.
Think you're alone if you've been declared bankrupt? Definitely not - 331 people a day are in your shoes.
And ringing up for debt advice is far more common than you probably might think - Citizens Advice Bureaux (CAB) in England and Wales deals with more than 8,000 new debt problems every working day.
Michelle Highman, CEO of Credit Action, says: "Our 'day in the life' statistics show the sheer scale of the financial problems faced in the UK and illustrate the numerous ways in which we are all vulnerable to the economic downturn.
"If you do find yourself in a situation where your debts are already out of control, make sure you seek free debt advice from services such as the CAB or the Consumer Credit Counselling Service (CCCS)."
But while many of us are struggling to make ends meet, we're still buying plenty on card - more than 26 million plastic card purchase transactions a day! And a whopping £531m of cash is withdrawn.
If you're feeling in a pickle over your finances, take a few minutes to glance over this advice on the best ways to get out of debt - it could set you off in the right direction.
