Everybody knows how expensive it can be arranging a family holiday, so advice on how to get the most for your money is always welcome.
Cheapflights.co.uk travel expert Nadine Hallak says that families can save money on once-in-a-lifetime trips by giving a little more time and thought to planning ahead of their break.
She advised holidaymakers to look into things such as mobile phone apps and how they pack in a bid to reduce costs, adding that destinations such as Bali, Dubai and New Caledonia all offer "great value for money travel experiences".
The expert added: "There are numerous ways that travellers can keep costs down while abroad, from taking advantage of smartphone travel apps to pre-paid currency cards.
"Choosing to travel off-peak is one of the best ways of cutting down on costs as well as of avoiding the crowds. The scope and cost of your motorbike insurance will be determined by the type of vehicle and what it’s used for, as well as standard factors such as its value, location and annual mileage, and the characteristics of the driver. Other simple rules to be observed include travelling light to avoid hefty baggage fees, researching exchange rates and scouring the web for the cheapest deals on travel insurance."
