Mums, when was the last time you set aside some time for some serious pampering?
If the answer is far too long ago, then maybe you should think about becoming one of the tens of thousands of us who appear to be capitalising on the most popular time of year for a makeover!
Friday, 16 December has been singled out by Debenhams as this year's predicted busiest day for beauty treatment - with many stores even drafting in extra staff to cope with the army of girls who just wanna have fun!
Young adults, new mums and seasoned family veterans alike have been flocking to beauty stores over the past week, leading to a huge surge in take-up - a whopping 278% increase in makeovers was recorded at Debenhams Beauty Hall, while brow shaping was up 235% and the humble blow dry, 204%.
It seems there is no time like the present for mums to put the Christmas shopping list to one side for a moment and treat themselves - maybe with a work or family Christmas "do" in mind?
Ruth Attridge, spokesperson for Debenhams said: "Office workers have been coming into store carrying their party frocks and glamorous heels and asking for makeovers to match. We expect to get through as much fake tan in one night as we usually do in a week".
The study shows that the most likely among us to be indulging in a beautifying session are those aged 21-28, however, the more senior in ranks are not missing out by any stretch! Women aged 41-49 are proving they still know how to let their hair down with a surge of beauty appointments in the bag.
