If you thought a holiday was out of reach for you and the kids this summer maybe you should think again.
Figures from M&S Money have shown that people opting for a week's holiday in Malta are only paying £1 more than they were last year.
Malta was the second-cheapest of the Commonwealth countries overall, coming in behind Cyprus, where a week's holiday cost £1,199 including flights.
In Malta the cost was just a few pounds more, at £1,230. Not far behind was Kenya, where a holiday costs £1,435.
Bargain-hunting mums and dads were advised against heading for Singapore and New Zealand though, which cost £2,662 and £2,206 respectively.
When flights were factored out of arrangements, holidays in Kenya offered the best value at £998, with Cyprus coming in second.
Jane Lawson, head of travel money at M&S Money, said: "Favourable exchange rates and lower inflation mean many countries in the Commonwealth offer great value for money."
