However, everyone needs a treat from time to time – and there are plenty of websites that specialise in bringing you luxury items and activities at bargain prices.

Our tips could save you a small fortune on days out, beauty treats and top restaurant meals!

Pamper yourself

If someone in your family deserves a treat, keep an eye on sites like Keynoir.com and 241 Spa’s Days at Treatme.net.

These sites run deals on treats like spas, facials and mini-breaks – offering them at a fraction of the normal price.

Wahanda.com specialises in offering discounts on health, beauty and wellness treats: Everything from haircuts and spa days to yoga and de-tox sessions.

Finally, LastMinute.com does great late deals on everything from pampering days to city breaks.

Designer clothing

If you need to update your wardrobe (but don’t have much spare cash) take a look at boutique sale website SecretSales.com.

As the name suggests, you’ll be the first to hear about its designer clothing sales when you join this ‘club’ – with discounts of up to 70%.

Alternatively, dig out the clothes you no longer want and swap them for smart new ones using initiatives like Swishing.com or BigWardrobe.com.

The former encourages you to turn up and swap items at swishing parties; while the latter lets you swap garments online.

Beauty and fragrance

If you want big-brand cosmetics without the posh price tag, check out FeelUnique.com and LookFantastic.com (or LookMantastic.com, if you’re a man!).

These sites sell popular beauty brands like GHD, L’Oreal and Benefit at much lower prices than you’d pay on the high street.

And to grab your favourite fragrance for less, take a look at CheapSmells.com and FragranceDirect.com.

Both give discounts of up to 50% on popular perfumes; and both sites have now also started selling discounted make-up and hair products.

Eating out

Finally, never book a meal out without checking whether you can get a discount. Toptable.com has loads of restaurant offers all over the UK, including 2 for 1 deals, 50% off food and great set menus for under £20.

It’s also worth joining the Tastecard scheme. A Tastecard lasting for a year usually costs just under £70; but you can sign up for a 30-day free trial on the Tastecard website.

You’ll then be entitled to either 50% off food or a 2 for 1 deal at over 5,000 affiliated restaurants.

Finally, the Afternoon Tea website is the place to go if you’d like a posh tea at a bargain price.

It regularly advertises 2 for 1 deals, big percentage discounts and free champagne at some of Britain’s top hotels and tea shops!

Savings and vouchers

If you don’t have the time to sign up to all of the above, make sure you keep an eye on the MyFamilyClub voucher zone, for free access to thousands of savings on everything from food and fashion to furniture and baby goods.

Or you could check out our Savings Pack, priced at £9.95 for the year, which gives you access to a year of savings from 4-10% at top supermarkets and retailers, and also includes spa day offers and department and clothing store savings.
