Finding the time to do the cooking isn’t always easy. When hungry monsters need feeding it can be really tempting to grab a fast food option. But home cooking doesn’t need to be expensive or time consuming.
Gemma Johnson shows us how to make one of her favourite recipes – ‘La Pizza Speciale’ … with the help of her two little chefs.
Pitta bread or pizza base
Grated cheddar or mozzarella cheese
Sun dried tomatoes
- If you’re using the pitta bread option toast one side under the grill or cook your pizza base. Take it out once it’s crispy.
- Now place toppings on the uncooked side, starting with the tomato puree
- Pop it back under the grill for about 8 minutes or until the cheese has melted.
It tastes delicious and is a cheap family meal that’s so simple to make at home. What’s even better is you can make this from ingredients you’ll have lying around the kitchen.
We’ve priced this dish at between £6-7 depending on where you shop. Plus pitta breads come in packets of about six to eight so it’s enough to feed the whole family.
