If you buy your ticket direct from Warwick Castle, you get the best discount AND entry to extra attractions you normally have to pay extra for, such as:
- Merlin – The Dragon Tower:
Get ready to experience the magic of Merlin’s world first hand. Venture into ‘The Dragon Tower’ and find yourself transported to the heart of Camelot. Inspired by the popular BBC One family drama, you’ll discover hidden secrets, magic mirrors, and come face to face with the Great Dragon himself!
- The Castle Dungeon:
Do you dare enter the Dungeon? Travel back to a time when Warwick was gripped by plague, brave the castle torturer and learn about his ghoulish methods, and discover the fate of the Witches of Warwick. Horrible history and gruesome fun collide in this part of the castle – but with its jumps and scares, we recommend not taking kids under 10! See the ticket offer below if you have kids under 10.

Top 10 things not to miss on your visit
1. Walk the walls:
Stunning sights await you both inside and out. Explore the Barbican Battlements and Captain’s Room (learn how boiling tar and human waste were poured on attackers) and make your way up Warwick’s majestic towers (go to the haunted Watergate Tower and the Bear Tower – complete with ancient bear pit.)
2. Take part in daily events and adventures:
Warwick Castle has shows, events and adventures taking place on a daily basis – from spectacular jousting competitions to archery displays to bruising battles between armoured knights.
3. Explore the grounds:
The castle is set in 64 acres of beautiful parkland, where the beautiful river Avon flows beside Warwick Castle. The gardens feature peacock shaped hedges, rolling lawns, a Victorian rose garden – and an island with a secret past…
4. See the Flight of the Eagles:
This event is not to be missed – witness majestic birds of prey (including eagles and vultures) swoop down the castle ramparts
5. Creep into the Castle Dungeon:
…if you dare. Live actors and special effects bring to life the Castle’s gruesome history (suitable for children aged 10 and over).
6. Experience Merlin’s Dragon Tower:
Merlin: The Dragon Tower is an interactive show (based on the popular Merlin BBC One family drama). But anyone can enjoy the spectacle whether they’ve seen the show or not – as it brings to life the classic tale of the young and daring wizard struggling to survive in a kingdom where magic is banned.
7. Go on the Grand Interiors Tour:
This brings to life the old and elegant hallways and rooms that have been hidden away for centuries.
8. Gear up for war!
Find out what it was like to prepare for battle in the brilliant ‘Kingmaker’ experience. Join nobleman Richard ‘Kingmaker’ Neville as he gears up for war. See how armour was crafted, weapons were made, and troops were rallied (knowing that the next day may be their last…)
9. Hear the tale of the Sword of the Stone:
Warwick Castle has its very own Excalibur Sword set into a stone. Hear actors recount the tale, then challenge the kids to see if they can remove it (and so claim the throne of England).
10. See the world’s largest siege weapon in action:
One of the star attractions at Warwick Castle has to be the giant wooden trebuchet. This is the world’s largest siege weapon which is in full working order – you can catch a demonstration of its power as it hurls fireballs hundreds of metres. It’s basically a ginormous catapult that kids go crazy about!
Dress for the visit
If you really want to make a day of it, get the kids dressed up as knights and ladies and watch them step back in time. For boys, here’s a cool Crusader costume – while girls can become the Princess of the Castle with this dress.
The kids can even try their hand at Warwick Castle’s own Excalibur sword – will they be able to remove it from the rock? To our knowledge, the sword is still stuck to this day…
