Everyone’s favourite time of the year is almost upon us. That’s right, Christmas is well on its way. While the festive season is one of the most exciting and fun periods of the year, it can also be stressful trying to keep the kids and all of the family busy, entertained and fed. That’s why I can think of no better time for a short family break to Center Parcs.
There are six Center Parcs locations across the UK and Ireland and each village is beautifully unique in its own right with over 400 acres of natural forest landscapes, a range of lodges, apartments and activities, an Aqua Sana Spa and more.
It is the ideal destination for a winter break with tonnes of fun, seasonal activities the whole family will enjoy, with cosy and comfortable lodges to call your home-away-from-home, and acres of wintry forest to explore.
You can visit Center Parcs over the Christmas period for a break depending on how long you’re looking to get away for and your budget. Wake up on Christmas morning nestled in the forest, surrounded by the festive atmosphere and the people you love.
Here’s what makes Center Parcs the perfect destination for a Christmas break with family:
The festive atmosphere
You can truly get into the spirit of Christmas at Center Parcs as each village is decked out with twinkling lights and festive decorations. Everywhere is injected with the Christmas spirit as all of the activities turn seasonal; the restaurants introduce their delicious Christmas menus, and you get to enjoy seasonal fireworks. If you’re lucky, it may snow during your visit and the village will turn into a snow-dusted fairy-tale dreamscape.
The stylish and family-friendly accommodation
There is a wide range of accommodation to suit all different family sizes and preferences, from the popular Woodland Lodges through to your own Treehouse. Regardless of the type you choose, you’re guaranteed stylish interiors, spacious open-plan living, a fully-equipped kitchen with modern appliances, comfy sofas, log-burning fireplace and private patio.
Relaxed and comfortable, you can truly treat it like your own home. Relax in front of the fire with a game, cook together as a family, or chill out in your own private hot tub. You can even add some seasonal sparkle to your lodge and pre-order a tree and decorations.
The fun seasonal activities
No matter how old your children are, you’ll find plenty to keep them occupied and entertained on a Winter Wonderland break at Center Parcs. Choose from a variety of fun seasonal activities to suit every child’s personality type.
Here are just a few of the Christmas activities on offer:
Festive Jingles Skate
Get your skates on, because this fun roller-themed disco will get you into the seasonal spirit despite the fun 80s tunes and the soulful disco lights. The skates are supplied; all you need to do is get your costumes on – and there are prizes for the best dressed so it’s worth pulling out all the stops.
The kids can visit Santa Claus himself in his magical workshop set up in the woods. Be greeted by the elves, before exploring the Woodland Workshop and popping by to say ‘hello’ to Santa. You can also have a special souvenir photograph taken as a memento of your meeting.
Festive Pottery Painting
Here the whole family can each choose their own favourite piece of pottery to add some seasonal sparkle and festive finesse to. Decorate your own baubles, tree decorations and more before it’s professionally glazed and fired overnight ready for you the next day. This is great way to spend time together, get creative, and create a decoration to treasure forever.
Festive Treasure Trail
This is a great way to get active and explore the forest as a family. You’ll discover woodland trails filled with sparkling surprises as you work together to track down all the festive clues. You’ll each receive a prize when you finish the trail.
Mrs Claus’ Gingerbread Decorating
Kids can get dressed up in an elf apron and decorate delicious gingerbread biscuits just in time for Christmas. They’ll finish off with a story and get to taste their carefully baked masterpieces; complete with a box of treats to takeaway and share with their families.
Festive Chocolate Chefs Academy
Created for 3 – 7 year olds, your kids will make their own range of delicious seasonal treats and design their own secret recipe.
Festive Willow Crafts
Relax as you learn how to shape delicate bendy willow fronds into a fun festive design. Laid back and creative, you can display your work on your Christmas tree or outside your Lodge and enjoy it for the rest of your stay.
Festive Carriage Rides
Take in the beauty of the forest with a horse-drawn carriage ride around the moonlit wintry grounds, before getting dropped off at the famous Subtropical Swimming Paradise and enjoying a Christmas celebratory dip – certainly not something you can do every year!
